greenhouse gas inventory software program
Purpose
Reducing
greenhouse gas emissions is a priority for
most Dormitory Authority customers. But
before reductions can be made, a baseline
has to be set. An innovative software
program can tell clients a building’s
current greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
DASNY worked collaboratively with one of
its largest clients, the City University
of New York (CUNY) to develop a greenhouse
gas (GHG) inventory software program that
can be fully integrated into a customer’s
building management and information
technology systems.
The program calculates the GHG emissions a
facility is producing based on the amount
of fuel(s) burned and electricity usage.
It also factors in things like employees’
commuting habits. The system then
generates reports in two globally
recognized formats. The program can be
used either with an established baseline
entered in the system to compare present
emissions to past emissions or it can be
used to create a baseline, making
comparisons to future data as it is added.
