The Hudson River Water Trail Program
Provides grants to municipalities, not-for-profits and private landowners. The 1991 Act that created the Hudson River Valley Greenway Agency required the agency to create a river valley trail system for public use. Part of that trail system is the Hudson River Greenway Water Trail. River access sites and campsites are needed to complete the water trail. 50% of total project cost of construction, engineering, etc is possible. Economic development is one of the features the program encourages for participation.
Private sector water launch-site owners and campsite owners in the area designated the Hudson River Valley Greenway.
