Purpose

The program offers developers and building owners financial assistance to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) goals in the design, construction and operation of buildings. LIPA will fund 100% of the cost of energy modeling up to $50,000, and up to 100% of the cost for commissioning of energy related systems up to $100,000 or as may be adjusted based on current program parameters.  Projects can qualify for up to $25,000 for achieving LEED points that are based on energy performance. The participant agrees that LIPA obtains and/or retains ownership of all rights to existing and future emissions credits, renewable energy credits, green tags, tradable renewable certificates, and/or any and all other environmental benefits associated with the installation of eligible equipment.

Eligibility

New commercial and major renovation projects that are registered with the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and seeking LEED certification.
